Allie is right, Caye Caulker has some beach areas that are great for hanging out and sun bathing. The Belize Barrier Reef is approx. 3/4 of a mile from Caye Caulker, thus not a lot of wave action to create a sandy beach. We do have some sandy beach areas, nonetheless. Sand fleas come and go and at times are gone for months , just like mosquitos. FYI: Belize is called Mosquito Coast because of Mosquito Indians.
