I must agree with jane. Unless you enjoy being an exhibitionist and visually assaulted I would wear a sarong or tee shirt while walking about. The local males enjoy chatting up females unattached as I experianced several times when the Pirate and Bro where not around. As soon as my male escorts showed their handsome faces the attention was toned way down. I was also majorly hit on while swimming off the pier one day. Now granted it gave this newly 40 year old an ego boost, but come on the guy was young enough to date my 14 year old daughter.

Depends on where you are staying, too. I went on a walk up to Mata Chica one day, and there was a woman sunbathing topless (laying face down). It didn't seem inappropriate to me. It's pretty remote up there.

In town... no way. I think you'd really draw a crowd!

WHile on AC, I met an AMerican couple who had opened a dive shop. They told me this story, of a tour guide who leads nude diving tours. Apparently, you feel really one with nature when you swim nude in the sea. WEll, anyway, on one particular occasion, a group was swimming with some stingrays, which they chummed. The guide, with the bait, all of the sudden felt a strange sensation on his, ahem, you know. I guess one of the rays mistook his "package" for a piece of bait! They say he hasn't been in the water since then.

Well that was almost the true story. The true story is that they were not nude snorkling. Nature called and he didn't like to do "it" in his trunks, so out came the church mouse and it was mistaken for a sardine. I joked that he was the first person in history to receive oral sex from a stingray. He didn't think it was funny.

As for nudity, just stumble into Fido's when the British soldiers are there ladies! Or, guys will enjoy off season at Caye Cauker when the Europeans "come out" in force.

Fido's is the place to see action. Just sit there, and the scene changes every few minutes. It is like grand central station, sooner or later everyone on the island strolls thru. Oh yes, the British Soldiers are a sight to behold, and entertaining. Best of all is listening to Barefoot Skinny.
Just Beliken up.
