On Ambergris Caye this morning the day is sunny with a moderate sea state around our barrier reef. The wind is from the East at 15 mph.The island has been very dry and we're teased by passing rain clouds that don't deliver.

Since the pattern of winds and clouds is pretty well the same as it has been for days and likely to continue for many more days, I have shown the bigger picture this morning. The typical high level clouds developing in the Pacific and moving over north Mexico into the US, then typically swirling down in a loop over the Atlantic, often causing very large rotating weather. Similar happens over South America.

The low level typically comes off Africa and comes across the Atlantic, as the world rotates, sometimes branching off towards Florida, and Panama. The main thrust is over Honduras and Belize, where it branches up towards the Gulf, and from Panama, down to form the ITCZ (Intertropical_Convergence_Zone), as it meets similar coming up from the south, forming high, heavy rain cloud activity, presently over north South America, later in the year over us. as the Sun moves northwards.

Looks like yet another sunny day with significant clouds and no indication of any rain, although there is a line of cloud now moving into Honduras, that just might cause a little rain in south Belize this evening.
