Diachlorus ferrugatus, doctor fly

He never got his PhD in any field but yet we call him Doctor....and we always dread his visit.

Wen di day is hot an sun de bake - di doctome, but fu he own sake. If you meh leff with an itch - you be certain dah dat was wone bitch..

Love to drop the dead ones and watch the ants cart them off. Major never ending entertainment.

Preparation H or any other hemorrhoid cream works wonders when you get bit by one, especially when combined with sunburn gel over it. Better than cortisone cream, benadryl cream, tea tree oil, etc. Stops the itch and most of the swelling.

Vicks Vaporub works. Just a modern version of the Creol coconut oil and camphor.

You can also use lime and salt or meat tenderizer. Sounds funny but it dissolves the sting and the venom. I also use a green (made in China) rubbing liniment. It leaves no traces! I actually walk around with that remedy! It must be applied right away!

They always come back for more. After they bite check under everything, because they will hide and come back. I have learned to wash the bite area, or use hand sanitizer, and we use andantol and ice. I get really swollen, and fever from the awful bites.

"Tabano" in Spanish. This one gives me huge swelling in the bite area and it does not respond to repellent.
