Scotiabank in San Pedro, long ago...
Marsha Hartley Muller: It was located in Milos hardware store across from a gift shop and Fidos. The lines were long and it seemed like everyond had to get in and ck it out.
Almost everyone had a checkbook. About 2 weeks later checks were bouncing all around town. I was told that ,"As long as there were checks in the book money was in the bank".
I don't recall how long the bank remained but I think it wasn't more that 2 mos. at best.
Island entertainment of a sort.
Kimberly Gonzalez: When I came on vacation in 1983, I remember taking a picture of the sign that advertised hrs. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9 to 11.
Jeanne Bremekamp:
First Scotia Bank came out on Monday morning at Ambergris Lodge on the beach, which is now the Mayan Princess.
Caribe Forman:
Was it Milo’s or Mash Hardware (across from the Catholic Church). My parents had an account there and I remember heading in that direction. Their sign was quite “British” with a Gryffin or unicorn or some Scotland related mascot as part of their logo I think…?
Arlene Belisle:
I can remember it was located at Mash Hardware also.
