NYGal: Sorry that our paths didn't cross during your recent visit. San Ignacio and Santa Elena are both growing greatly...more so than San Pedro, I believe. The last time I was in Spanish Lookout was last year... and it is much the same as ten or so years ago, although there are some "refugee" type communities starting out at its fringes.
