WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Our IWFA (International women's Fishing Association) group were here and caught 450 bonefish over 3 days and 8 boats out on the water each of the 3 days! The high fish day was 63 bonefish in one boat in one 8 hour day! Congratulations to Connie for first place, with Pam, Denise and Susan in second through fourth. Donna, Molly, Abby (the Orvis group leader), Darla, Joan, Ellen, Janice, and Susan #2 really demonstrated their skills. I would encourage all women anglers to check out their site at http://www.iwfa.org/ . The rest of the El Pescador guest list also did well with the bonefish. The Elder family of 12 that tore up some bonefish flats, Nic, Patrick, David, Joe, Ben, Dan, Nic1, Nic2 all did well with the bones. Honeymooners, Lance & Sara, and Andrew and Kate all succeeded in their bonefish quest. Our Orvis group did great with Dan leading the way for Chris, Scott, Cameron, Emily and little Jack. Jack, at just one-year-old he demonstrated his charm with the staff and was voted most likely to Slam by age ten!

PERMIT (Palometta): The Elder family also got a few permit, with Patrick, Joe and Ben leading the way for a great permit week. Dan from Orvis led a great group this week and both he and his friend Will figured out how to make a few permit eat. Max ended up with a permit that was part of his grand slam day. Kassie and Joe fished with us just one day and BOTH of them ended with permit, and our friend Hackney arrive late in the week as a warm up for next week's Tres Pescados tournament and started off strong with a permit that was the building black for his first slam,

TARPON (Sabalo): Cameron started off the week by jumping 3 in one day and wondering what he did wrong ( a constant question from new tarponites), and he followed it up with a nice one to the boat a couple days later feeling vindicated. Dan landed a beauty, Dave got one after a great fight, Max, Kassie, Joe, Joe 2, Hackney all landed tarpon. Adam, a regular guest and great friend to both us and the fishery got 2 tarpon his first day out. Adam will be leading our tarpon tagging expedition next week and we applaud him for his efforts to help our fishery. Heath ended up the week with 4 to the boat on his last day of fishing for the high tarpon number of the week.

OTHER SPECIES: Snook, Cudas, Cameron was our snapper supplier for dinner, ladyfish, jacks and much more!

Grand Slam: Oh Baby there was some action going on this week. First and foremost was a DOUBLE grand slam by Kassie and Joe, 2 anglers, one boat, 2 slams. My hats off to them and their guide. I am not done Max achieved the coveted prize, Joe did it and Hackney got into the groove right away on his first day! FIVE grand slams in a week! You should have been here last week!!!

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Crazy Charlie tan, Gotcha, CI Special, tiny micro crabs,

FOR PERMIT - Gummy minnow, SimRam, Ci special, Raghead Crab ( tan), Avalon

This Week's Summary:

Another epic permit week with the tarpon coming on strong around the full moon! Again, debunking some of the myth about tarpon eating all night on a full moon.
