WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

GRAND SLAM: Eric came through on his second day at EP with a grand slam with Capt Kechu and more importantly his wife Hannah who accompanied Eric for the first time today. He will never fish without her again!

BONEFISH: Tom from Italy caught a bunch of bones his day out with Capt. Vince. Husband and wife team Wyn and Maggie landed their share of bonefish with ease and are mastering the double haul. Mike, Andrew, Dan, Ben made the bonefish honor roll as well with their first bonefish ever. Wade, Jack and Matthew all boated bonefish with Capt. Luis. A couple groups from the UK this week include Kate, Rob, Andy, Gary, Mike and Peter - all got their first bonefish on their first day of saltwater flats fishing.

PERMIT: You are going to hate this Michaela, from Italy hooked a permit on her first cast ever in saltwater, and yes she landed it! Her guide Capt. Vince had to explain how hard that is to achieve. Fred and Ryan said they had many shots at big and small permit all day long on Wednesday but none would bite. Ben, Andy, Brian and Mike all landed permit on the business outing to El Pescador, Their guides were Capt. Vince and JR. It was a great week for permit. Eric's permit was the lynch pin for his grand slam outing.

TARPON: Our long time friend George finally got a break in the weather and pounced on the chance to land a nice 50 pound fish late in the week for the tarpon king of the week. George and Judy have been coming to El Pescador for over 25 years! Wow! They are fishing with Capt. Alex. Eric landed a small tarpon to complete his grand slam.

OTHER SPECIES: Barracudas were prevalent all week and a great diversion along with jacks and snappers.

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONES - Crazy Charlie in tan, Gotcha, Christmas Island Specials, Turneffe Crabs size 6 olive

FOR PERMIT - Avalon, Crazy Charlie tan

FOR TARPON - Green Deceiver, Chartreuse Bunnies

This Week's Summary:

This week was all about permit and bonefish due to the high winds that prevented the tarpon junkies from venturing out to the flats west of Ambergris. --Ed

Guide of the week: Capt. Kechu for the grand slam for Hannah and Eric.
