BELIZE FISHING REPORT

JUNE 5, 2021 THROUGH JUNE 12, 2021

Weather Conditions: Mostly sunny weather with moderate to strong winds from the East at 20-30 Mph.

Winds: East at 20-30 Mph.

Air Temperature: Low 90's.

Sunrise: 5:15 am Sunset: 6:28 pm

Moonphase: Waxing crescent 9%.

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Good numbers of bones were caught Most were in the 2-4 Lb range.

PERMIT (Palometta): 15 Permit were caught between 5 - 15 Lbs.

TARPON (Sabalo): The big migratory Tarpon are here, but the wind made fishing for them very difficult.

OTHER SPECIES: Some big Jacks were caught. Barracuda and Ladyfish were also around. Three very nice Snook were also taken.

GRAND SLAM: No Grand Slams were recorded.

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Specials in gold, pearl and pink sizes 4 & 6, and Crazy Charlies in pink and orange.

FOR PERMIT - Mantis shrimp and Flexo crabs. Crabs were preferred over other patterns.

FOR TARPON - White bunnies and black/purple bunnies are the flies of choice.

Week in Review:

Fishing was fair this week, with anglers dealing with fresh winds. The big migratory Tarpon are here! Hopefully, the wind will subside, and we can go after the big boys!
