WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Some long-time friends fished with us this week, Dean, Scott, Dave, Wayne, Dennis and Charles have been to El Pescador a combined 30 plus times and it is always a pleasure to host our extended El Pescador family. Jim and Sharon fooled some bonefish, Jerry and Mandy, Dave and Erica ( first bonefish ever) Jill and Guy (Jill's first ever), Nathan and Diana (her first), Wade with his first bonefish, Adam, Tyler sand Emily added bonefish to their species list.. Gary and Elaine, Pete and Richard, Ray and Jay, Wade and Adam, all enjoyed some great bonefishing. The biggest fish of the week was right off the dock here at the lodge as Nathan landed "Bob" a nice 4-5 pounder that hangs out here at the lodge

PERMIT (Palometta): Joe was the first to land a permit this week, as the first angler to land this devilish fish. Rich and Adam joined the club later in the week with a couple of nice fish. There were several boats who made some good shots, got some good follows, even a bite or two but no dice. They just didn't eat.

TARPON (Sabalo): Dave was bound and determined to land a tarpon he spied in our back lagoon. He was fishing on his own for a couple days and saw 2 fish in the same spot both days - Next armed with a tarpon fly and leader he was able to hookup and keep the fish out of the mangroves - a solid 10 pounder all on his own! Nathan got 2 to eat and jumped a third on his first day out, Ray was victorious in his tarpon quest, and Adam ( on his honeymoon) landed a nice tarpon towards the end of the week.

OTHER SPECIES: Jacks, Barracudas, Snappers

Grand Slam: Joy was determined for us to acknowledge her bonefish, snapper and barracuda grand slam but unfortunately after careful review, the ruling on the water was upheld, it is not a grand slam in this or any country!

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Peterson shrimp, CI special, micro crabs

FOR PERMIT - CI Special, Mantis shrimp

FOR TARPON - Purple bunny, black toad, black deceiver

This Week's Summary:

Old friends fished with us this week, and it is always a pleasure to host our extended El Pescador family. Weather still not 100% but the fishing was still solid.
