WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Wow , we had a lot of families this week and everyone who went after bonefish managed to land them. Bryan, Molly, James, Marsh,& John, Kathryn, Tom, Rob, Ryan ,Scott, Gabby & Maddy, Matthew & Steve, Chris & Jeff, John & Mark, Jeff, John & Ali, Charles, Kate, Elizabeth, Josie, Sam & Sawyer, Jeff, Yvete, Jack & Ryan, Len and Lisa, Poster, Patricia, Anna & Emma, Mike, Alicia, Victoria & Justin, Jonathan, Sam, Thomas & George, Tom & Ali were a few of the guests enjoying the holidays here at EL Pescador.

PERMIT (Palometta): It turned out to be a good permit week with lots of shots, a few bites and 7 fish landed. Congratulations to young Elizabeth who set out on the lofty goal of catching a permit. Although she had realistic expectations, her confidence was high. Success along side her father Charles as they each landed a fish early on, shared one and Charles caught the third! Jacob landed his first permit, Jonathan came all the way from England to land a permit (the slam was foiled by a tarpon who ate his fly but did not stay on) Brady got a beauty and Len almost slammed after he landed his permit, but the tarpon are the pesky ones this week! John got the biggest of the week with a great fish landed.

TARPON (Sabalo): I can't remember when we have had a no tarpon week but here it is! The winds kept everyone off our favorite tarpon areas. A few were hooked but none made it to the boat.

OTHER SPECIES: Jacks, Barracuda, Snappers, Snook

Grand Slam: None.

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - CI-Special, Crazy Charlie

FOR PERMIT - Christmas Island Specials, Mantis Shrimp, Raghead crab

FOR TARPON - White toad had some bites

This Week's Summary:

The wind was tough but the anglers persevered and got some good fishing in. New Year was celebrated with one of the largest group of guests El Pescador has hosted. The family atmosphere was wonderful.
