WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Bonefish (Macabi); BTT tagged 748 fish in 4 days of tagging! This is part of an important study to learn more about the bonefish here in Belize. How fast do they grow, how far do they travel? Tagging will help.

Carson and the Kim enjoyed their first bonefishing here on the island. Kim and Carson learned just before they arrived that they have a baby that should arrive in July - just in time for tarpon season ( you can't start too early).

Doug and Taryn, Sarah and Matt, Joe and Chris, Tim and Tommy, Eileen and Brian, Bill and will, Rusty and Ian, Frank, Simon and Jamie, Brad, Rick and Steven, Mark, Cameron, Rob and Susan all had some great fun at the lodge and most honed their bonefish skills.

PERMIT (Palometta): One angler actually landed one of the previously tagged permit the next day (boy, it is not this fish's week!) Tim led the permit parade with 5 permit this week (one really big one), Will not far behind with 3,Tom got one, Steve landed 3 in 3 days, Taryn got her first ever, not to be outdone, her husband Doug also landed his first permit! Congrats to Cameron on a permit during his stay.

TARPON (Sabalo): A bunch of tarpon were hooked but only two made it to the boat. Mark was successful with a Silver King and Frank started at the top and chose not to fish for bonefish so was awarded the only tarpon pin of the week but no bonefish pins.

OTHER SPECIES: Jacks, Barracuda, Snappers, Snook

Grand Slam: Mike's Slam happened during the worst of the wind and his success kept all the other fishermen going this week. We wish Mike all the best as he rushed back to the states after falling ill with some heart related issues. His prognosis is good and we are hoping for a speedy recovery to celebrate his grand slam!

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - CI-Special, Crazy Charlie

FOR PERMIT - Christmas Island Specials, EP Spawning Shrimp, Bauer crab

FOR TARPON - White Toad and Black Death patterns had some bites

This Week's Summary:

Aaron Adams from Bonefish Tarpon Trust cam down with 3 assistants to help with some tagging, and tag they did. Our guides found the fish and then helped the BTT fellows rounded them up. They tagged 748 bonefish and 14 permit in the 4 days they worked. We already caught one of the tagged permit! We really appreciate the work they are doing and hope you will support them by buying a membership. Call or join online Bonefish and Tarpon Trust or 321-674-7758
