WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Bob & Jeanna, Brad & Brenna, Tonya & Bruce, Ferdy & Michaela ( From Germany), Paul & Kathy, Jody and Keith, Brent & Jen, Bill & Megan, Randall & Kathy, Nick & John, Ron & Jim, Stanley, Cole, Carl, Earl and many many more enjoyed the bonefishing here on the flats near El Pescador. In fact some folks were trying to fool the educated fish tailing in front of the lodge as the tide was coming in. Biggest of the week was around 5 pounds!

PERMIT (Palometta): The permit magic continues The best permit stories of the week are from our returning guests and great friends Bob and Jeanna. They both got multiple permit this week and it was Jeanna's first ever! I can't tell you how happy I am for both of them (especially Jeanna since it is her first) Brad's was part of his slam. I know more permit were caught and released so let me know if I left your name out!

TARPON (Sabalo): Omar was casting at tarpon every day he went out. Fly-fishing for only 2 years it was a pleasure to have his happy Italian laughter around this week, Paul got a beauty. I don't mean Kathy (although she is a beauty) I mean Paul caught a tarpon! One of Brad's many hookups ended up fulfilling the tarpon slot in his grand slam, Brenna had her first ever cast at a tarpon and the fish obliged her casting prowess with a nice bite! The story ends there though, as it just didn't stick, She says she set the hook too late, I say it is random sometimes early is good, sometimes late is better, it is pretty random when it sticks!! Ferdy was a tarpon Magnet from Germany! Omar was our tarpon whisperer from Italy!

OTHER SPECIES: Ladyfish, Jacks were very cooperative, several species of snappers, a few snook, some Spanish Mackerel and many other species especially if you count the reef trips that went out... Tripletail, groupers, barracudas all came to the boat.

Grand Slam: Hip Hip Hooray for Brad as he picked up a grand slam on his last day of fishing. Brenna (Brad's sweetheart enthusiastically agreed to an extra day of fishing and it paid off with a nice tarpon, a decent permit and bonefish!

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Pretty much if it was in front of a bonefish it worked, but our guides seem to like the simple lead eye CI special

FOR PERMIT - Christmas Island Special, Bauer Crab, Foxy clouser.

FOR TARPON - White bunny, Black Death, White toads!

This Week's Summary:

Some great fishing this week with a real international crowd from the US, Canada, Italy, Germany. Weather was pretty good and the fishing was great.

Fish On!
