WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Tropical storm Harvey was threatening to visit us this week, but it now seems the threat has dissipated. The fishing before a major storm is usually really good and this week has not proven any different. Our bonefish are feeding well and all bonefish anglers are benefiting from the bite.

PERMIT (Palometta): The permit bite continues to be productive as they are around in large numbers. Most of the anglers here this week are targeting tarpon, but each of our permit anglers are getting multiple shots during the day. Once again the first time anglers are often the most successful!

TARPON (Sabalo): Adam M. with The Fieldworkers Club has finished his yearly tagging expedition of tarpon this week and continued the efforts to gain a better understanding of their movements. The tagged fish will hopefully give us the information we need to enhance the protection efforts of this fish we all love to catch. We will look forward to next year! Join us and be part of the science. If interested contact [email protected]. Thank you again for all your efforts, Adam!!

OTHER SPECIES: Needlefish, Barracuda, Snapper, Cobia, Mackerel, Nurse Sharks.

GRAND SLAM: No Grand Slams this week.

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Specials in orange and pink size 6 & 8, Squimp and Mantis shrimp.

FOR PERMIT - Peterson Shrimp, Squimp and crabs in tan and olive.

FOR TARPON - Toads and bunnies, black on black, red on black, tan and olive are all great.

This Week's Summary:

The week was filled with fun, lots of laughs, and great fishing. We are looking forward to next week. Hope to see you here!
