WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Paul and MIchelle joined forces this week to give some of our Belizean bonefish some good exercise! Dubber and Don were able to wade for many of their bonefish. Wading can be a fun alternative on a cloudy day when visibility is poor. Going shallow can expose some fish as they tail or make some surface disturbances (nervous water). It does slow the day down a bit as you can not cover as much water as you can from the boat, but I find it a very enjoyable way to bonefish. Sandra learned how to fly fish while here at the lodge and her hard work was rewarded with a total of 8 bonefish! Chris got some bonefish, Karen and Jeff got some bonefish and Mike and Cindy enjoyed all that Ambergris has to offer (as well as some bonefish)

PERMIT (Palometta): No permit this week - this is the first no permit week in a long time!

TARPON (Sabalo): Chris landed the lone tarpon of the week. (Our favorite tarpon areas were weathered out this week)

OTHER SPECIES: Snappers, Cudas, Jacks

Grand Slam: No Grand Slams (very sad).

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Special, bonecrusher, gotcha.

FOR PERMIT -

FOR TARPON - Green Toad

This Week's Summary:

This week was fairly quiet here on the island with just a few anglers heading out each day into less than perfect conditions. Even on the worst days bonefish were found and caught even though the permit and tarpon fishing was a bit tough.
