WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): A big thanks to everyone at the lodge this week, it was very busy and hundreds of bonefish were landed... here are a few highlights: Bonefish were the main target for many people and a backup for others. Gerard, John, Katy, Robert, Richard, Paul, Garrison, Dave, Tom, Greg, Josh, Calvin, Brent, just to name a few of our successful bonefish anglers. Couples like Brett and Joni, Davis and Allison, Ethan and Stephanie, Erin and Travis, MIcah and Kelly, Laura and Will (although Laura did not fish), Scott and Jenny, Carl and Ashley all had fun with the bonefish as well. Father son and Father daughter teams did well Steve and daughter Ashley, Carl and sons Garrrison and Richard, Dave and daughter Melissa got to enjoy our bonefish fishery!

PERMIT (Palometta): WOW! Another fantastic, unbelievable permit week! Allison started it out with the biggest smile when she reported her permit - her beau Davis did even better with 7 permit on his week. Ethan got 7, yes 7, on Sunday! Greg and Mark and David combined with 8 to the boat. Their buddies in another boat were really depressed that they were so out fished! My advice was not to doubt your guide, not to doubt your skills, just keep doing it. The next day Tom and Gregg landed over 15 permit - most in the dinner plate size but one beauty was 10 pounds. Jenny out-fished her husband Scott and finished up her day with a permit much to the enjoyment of all on board!

TARPON (Sabalo): Yippee for Stephanie with an 80 pound tarpon to the boat... while her favorite fellow (Ethan) was not left out and landed an even bigger tarpon ( although there is still some debate over which one was really bigger!) Erin hooked one up that jumped with the bait flying overhead... Travis was a little luckier and landed a nice 50 pound fish that same day.

OTHER SPECIES: Calvin ( 11 years old) got a big old snook, lots of Snappers, Cudas, Jacks

Grand Slam: Almost! Mark had a tarpon on after landing several permit!

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Special, gotcha with lead eyes, crazy charlie

FOR PERMIT - Mantis shrimp, Bauer Crab Olive/Tan, Merkin Crab, SImram, Peterson Spawning shrimp.

FOR TARPON - Olive Green toad, Black death, Cockroach, Chartreuse bunny

This Week's Summary:

Lots of people enjoying Belize during of first week of summer 2 for 1 pricing. Even though he fishing peaks in the summer with the addition of Migratory tarpon to the mix, our attendance levels tend to be lower. Come enjoy the summer and fall with us. Even though it was windy we continue to light up the permit boards.

Fish On!
