FISHING REPORT

Weeks of May 29th - June 4th, 2016

Weather Conditions: Partly Cloudy and dry early in the week and getting cloudy later in the week - HOT!

Winds: The winds were moderate at 5-10 mph form the east, building to 10-20 late in the week.

Air Temperature: Highs were between 86� and 91� with lows in upper 70's and low 80's

Water Temperature: Temp: 81 F. degrees

Barometric Pressure: 29.82 - 29.92

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Bonefish are everywhere, they are on the beach in front of the lodge, they are in the lagoon behind the lodge, they are prolific. The biggest fish this week was 4 pounds on the Oceanside ( between Ambergris Caye and the Barrier reef.) The high boat this week was 22 fish before the guests pulled the plug. Chris had a great day of DIY bonefishing out in our back lagoon. He took a kayak out with Cynthia one morning and landed a bunch of fish.

PERMIT (Palometta): More than a dozen permit were landed this week, with at least as many hooked but not landed. David, Steve Andy, Rick, Terrell, Vincent with 3 fish to the boat, Richard, Doug, Parker, john and the true star was

TARPON (Sabalo): Our guests from Columbia South America seemed to be drawn to tarpon, to the extent that most of them skipped over the bonefish, Congratulations to Alvaro, Liliana, Luz, Monica, Julio, and Juan for their perseverance in the pursuit of tarpon. Most of them landed some tarpon but all of them had some extended fights. Other tarpon masters included Jason, Matt, Damon, Brandon, John, and Justin! A good solid tarpon week with Migratory tarpon moving in more and more.

OTHER SPECIES: Jacks, Snappers, Barracudas, Snook (Alvaro, Julio, Monica, and Liliana were "Snooky" this week)

GRAND SLAM: The Super Grand Slam award goes to Matt! The 2 Grand Slam Awards go to Damon and Brandon for their efforts out on the water. It is not often 2 grand slams are second fiddle to a super grand slam! Three Grand Slams in a week 2 weeks in a row!

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Specials, Crazy Charlies, Ghost shrimp and various other patterns

FOR PERMIT - Christmas Island Specials, Camo Crab, Squimp

FOR TARPON - Black death for the migratory tarpon, a custom deceiver from one of our tiers, White Bunny, Natural Cockroach

This Week's Summary:

Permit were still going strong and tarpon are being hooked at a much more normal rate.
