WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Our lovely bonefish came to the hooks of all who sought them out. Martin, Natasha, Andy, Rich, Edward, Maddy, Rich, Deborah, Ari, Nyugen, Gary, Debbie, Sheila, and David rounded out the bone fishers at the lodge this week.

PERMIT (Palometta): Ari, Andy, and Martin found their permit days as part of their grand slam day efforts! These were dinner plate size permit which are just a couple years old. These are beautiful fish born with the same annoying instincts when it comes to flies as their 20 pound parents! They just don't eat flies on a daily basis! Size does not matter when we are talking "I got a permit!"

TARPON (Sabalo): Ari, Andy, and Martin had their tarpon fall on their grand slam day efforts! The biggest tarpon of the week goes to the lovely Natasha who was visiting from the UK. She also had a smaller one earlier in the week (60 pounds). George and George Jr. teamed up for 2 tarpon on their outing and Richard landed 2 tarpon this week as well.

OTHER SPECIES: Ladyfish, Jacks were very cooperative, several species of snappers, a few snook, some Spanish Mackerel and many other species especially if you count the reef trips that went out... Tripletail, groupers, barracudas all came to the boat.

Grand Slam: Wow, three international travelers brought their A-Game this week! We get to award a rare Super Grand Slam today (9/18/15) to Ari, Martin (from the UK) got a Grand Slam on Monday and Andy (from the UK) got s Grand Slam on Thursday.

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Pretty much if it was in front of a bonefish it worked, but our guides seem to like the simple lead eye CI special

FOR PERMIT - Christmas Island Special, Bauer Crab, Foxy clouser.

FOR TARPON -

This Week's Summary:

Some of the best fishing of the year is in the summer nd fall here at El Pescador. It is just more likely that a person from the northern half of the US is going to visit us during the winter rather than now. So even though the fishing is at its peak we only had a few boats going out daily.
