BELIZE FISHING REPORT

Weeks of Aug 1st - Aug 13th, 2018

Weather Conditions: Mostly sunny with a couple pop-up showers.

Winds: 10-15 mph.

Air Temperature: Highs in the high 80's. Lows in the top 70's to low 80'.

Water Temperature: 85� F (same as last week).

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): We had a great group of folks with lots of returning guests. It is always good to see familiar faces in beautiful places. The bonefish, due to the weather, were also familiar faces. Here are the many Bonefish successes! Thomas c, Robert and Sam K, Hannah, Mike, Ken Z , Frank M , Jeff K , Jon-Mark, Ramsay S, Ryan G, Brent T, Graham C, Brian and Mike P, Paul, Max and Steve M, Susan, Sydney and Mark B, Jose D, Jim H, Eric E., Todd C Mike M, Bill W, Kevin S., Mitch k, Ryan and Hannah, Dennis T, Bob S, Craig and Michael S, and Tim M!!!.

PERMIT (Palometta): Mike, Graham, Jeff K and Paul Mall landed Permit this week as did Michael M.

TARPON (Sabalo): Tarpon have been around in large numbers and it was a nice week for Tarpon fishermen. Congrats to Sam K, Ken Z, Steve M, Tom and Todd C both got their tarpon as did Kevin S, Joe Z, Mitch K. and longtime friend of the lodge Bill W.

OTHER SPECIES: Grouper, trigger, cobia, gray snapper, mutton snapper.

GRAND SLAM: Congratulations to Alisa W on her Slam!

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Specials in orange, pearl and pink sizes 6 & 8.

FOR PERMIT - Grand Slam Crab, Squimp in size 6&8, Mantis shrimp.

FOR TARPON - Red and white, olive, white, red and black, all black and black and purple toads and bunnies continue to work well.

This Week's Summary:

The weather has been lovely and the fishing great! It's a busy time for the lodge with both longtime friend of the lodge Adam Marton's tarpon tagging group here as well as the Orvis Woodlands store friends. We are always delighted to see lots of returning guests and welcome those visiting El Pescador for the first time. Come join us in beautiful Belize!
